PLEASANT VALLEY is a delightful wooded valley with a
small river running from Stepaside to Wiseman’s
Bridge. In the nineteenth century there were several
coal mines in the Stepaside/Pleasant Valley area. There
was also an iron works and the ruins can be visited
today. To transport the coal and iron, a railway was
built to Saundersfoot via Wiseman’s Bridge. The
area boasts a range of accommodation, including caravan
sites and a hotel.
